Kurdish Alevi singer Suna Alan performed an evening of traditional and cross-cultural melodies at the Vortex Jazz Club in London, her voice described as carrying the spirit of her ancestral heritage and the cosmopolitan soul of her upbringing.
Now based in London, Alan's artistry is deeply rooted in Kurdish traditions, while her repertoire spans Armenian, Greek, Arabic, Sephardic and Turkish folk music. The concert was billed as an exploration of Kurdish music that transcends borders and celebrates shared humanity.
The performance was one of a series of Kurdish cultural events staged in the British capital during 2025, reflecting the growing presence of Kurdish arts in UK cultural life. (Vortex Jazz Club)
