A drone strike by the Türkiye-Syrian National Army coalition that hit a Kurdish Red Crescent ambulance in northern Syria is an apparent war crime, Human Rights Watch said.
The ambulance was transporting a civilian wounded in an earlier strike on protesters at Tishreen Dam. The attacks that day killed six civilians, including a well-known Kurdish actor, and injured at least 16 others.
The ambulance driver described the drone striking shortly after he re-entered the vehicle. HRW called for accountability, stressing that striking an ambulance carrying wounded civilians is unlikely to be an accident. (Human Rights Watch)
