Authorities in Iran executed at least eight prisoners at Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj, including five Kurdish men, the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights reported.
Among the most recently identified were Faramarz Shahbazi and Mashallah Nikoufal, both Kurds from Harsin in Kermanshah province, and Ahmadali Mehripour, a Kurd from Kuhdasht. Several had been held for years before their sentences were carried out.
Hengaw said the executions were not announced by state-affiliated media, continuing a pattern of secrecy around the death penalty. (Hengaw Organization)
