The Kurdish community in London came together in Finsbury Park to celebrate Newroz, marking the arrival of spring and the Kurdish new year, with music, dancing and traditional food.
The festivities included vibrant displays of traditional Kurdish dress, known as Cilî Kurdi, with families and friends gathering in a spirit of unity. Organisers from the Kurdish community said the event was a chance to bring people from various backgrounds together.
Jeremy Corbyn, Independent MP for Islington North and a regular guest at Newroz celebrations, was expected to attend once again, saying the day is not only for Kurdish people but is celebrated with Afghan, Arab, Turkish and Iranian communities as well. (Islington Now)
