The London Kurdish Film Festival (LKFF) returned for its 14th edition, running from 25 April to 3 May 2025 at venues including Finsbury Park Picturehouse and the Rio, with an opening night reception and a closing gala and after party.
Since 2001, LKFF has been a leading platform for Kurdish and Kurdish-adjacent cinema, run entirely by volunteers and sharing Kurdish stories, landscapes and languages with London audiences. The 2025 edition was organised around the theme of celebration, with films from across the four parts of Kurdistan curated into four themes and a special focus on shorts and documentaries.
The festival was dedicated to the late Sırrı Süreyya Önder. Its awards honoured works combining political depth, cultural memory and artistic quality, including the Rojazer Prize for Best Feature Film and the Yılmaz Güney Prize for Best Short Film. (London Kurdish Film Festival / Egerin)
