APPG for the Kurdistan Region Re-elected with John Slinger as Chair

The All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for the Kurdistan Region in Iraq reconstituted in the new UK Parliament, with John Slinger MP recorded as Chair in the group's register entry as at 9 September 2025. The cross-party group brings together MPs and Peers to promote understanding of the Kurdistan Region and to strengthen ties between the UK and the Kurdish people.

The group has hosted events at Westminster on Kurdish culture, human rights and the legacy of the Anfal and Halabja atrocities, and it supports parliamentary delegations and meetings with Kurdish representatives. Earlier in 2025 a delegation associated with the group visited the Kurdistan Region, with the cost of the visit recorded in the register of interests.

The APPG continues to provide a parliamentary platform for Kurdish issues at a time of heightened regional tension. (UK Parliament Register of All-Party Parliamentary Groups)
