Kurdish restaurants and chefs dominated the 13th British Kebab Awards, with Kurdish chef Majid, originally from Syrian Kurdistan, winning Best Scottish Kebab for the fourth consecutive year.
Kurds took a significant share of awards across the evening, though without an independent Kurdish state they are often identified by the countries they come from. The event, founded by Labour figure Ibrahim Dogus, drew around 1,200 guests including MPs.
Organisers said the awards help raise awareness of Kurdish culture and build a positive image of Kurds in Britain. (Kurdistan24 / ARK News)
